The Food Basket consists of essential grocery items and medication listed under Statutory Rules and Orders (SR&O) No. 41 of 2007. These items are subject to a regulated government markup to help ensure affordability and protect consumers from excessive pricing. The Consumer Affairs Department (CAD) monitors the prices of these items regularly to promote price stability and transparency in the marketplace.
